Vermont Department of Health Emergency Medical Services Requirements 

  • Vermont licensees must renew every 2 years.

  • Beginning July 1, 2015, Vermont modeled the requirements for continuing education after the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians’ (NREMT) National Continued Competency Program (NCCP).

    • EMTs and paramedics recertifying must complete hours that meet the NREMT requirements as well as State and Local hour requirements. 18 V.S.A.§906(10)(F).
    • National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification and Vermont state licenses.
