  • SC EMTs, AEMTs, and paramedics must recertify every four (4) years from the date of issuance and must maintain current NREMT certification. SC Code § 44-61-80(E)

  • South Carolina Regulations:

    1. An individual who was certified in South Carolina before October 1, 2006, and has continuously maintained a South Carolina state EMT certification at any level without lapse, may continue to renew that certification without a NREMT credential SC R.61-7 Section 903(A)(4)
    2. An individual who has gained a NREMT credential on or after October 1, 2006, must maintain their NREMT credential to be certified, recertified, and maintain their South Carolina certification SC R.61-7 Section 903(A)(5)
