Florida Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Requirements
Florida licensees must renew every two years.
Requirements for Paramedics:
30 hours of continuing education every two years. Of the 30 hours two hours must be related to pediatric emergencies. FAC 64J-1.009. Enroll in our National Continued Competency Requirements (NCCR) ALS refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
Effective January 1, 2016, paramedic candidates will take the NREMT exam to gain Florida certification. Enroll in our ALS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
Requirements for EMTs:
30 hours of continuing education every two years. Of the 30 hours two hours must be related to pediatric emergencies. FAC 64J-1.008. Enroll in our BLS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
