The Delaware Division of Public Health, Emergency Medical Services Requirements

  • Although we strive to keep everything updated, please check with your state EMS Representative for the most current re-certification information.

  • Paramedic licenses expire on May 31 of even-numbered years (2022, 2024). Title 24 § 1700, 14.2.1. Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline renewal information.

  • EMT certificates must be renewed every two (2) years by March 31 to coincide with their NREMT card. Title 1 § 700, 14.3.1 Requirements for certification and re-certification EMTs are determined by the Delaware State Fire Prevention Commission.

  • EMR certificates must be renewed every two (2) years by the date of initial certification. Title 1 § 700, 16.3. The Delaware State Fire School manages all EMR certifications for the State of Delaware. NREMT is optional.
