Connecticut Dept. of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services Requirements

Paramedic licenses must be renewed annually during the month of birth. CGS, Chapter 368a, Sec. 19a-88(e)
AEMT, EMT, and EMR certificates must be renewed every three years from the date of initial certification. CGS, Chapter 384d, Sec. 20-206mm(e)

Requirements for Paramedics:

Evidence of completion of a mobile intensive care training program and pass an examination prescribed by the commissioner. CGS, Chapter 384d, Sec. 20-206mm(a). Enroll in our ALS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.


Requirements for AEMTs:

25 hours of refresher training and 23 hours of continuing education every two years. R.C.S.A. § 19a-179-16a(c)(2)(A)-(B). Enroll in our National Continued Competency Requirements (NCCR) ALS refresher course to fulfill these requirements.


Requirements for EMTs:

25 hours of refresher training every two years through the end of the sixth consecutive year of certification. Then 25 hours every thirty-six months. R.C.S.A. § 19a-179-16a(b)(2)(A). Enroll in our BLS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.


Requirements for EMRs:

15 hours of refresher training every two years through the end of the sixth consecutive year of certification. Then 15 hours every thirty-six months. R.C.S.A. § 19a-179-16a(a)(2)(A). Enroll in our 18 Hour NREMR Refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
