Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Requirements

Michigan EMS personnel certifications expire every three years. R 325.22316. For recertification, an application shall submit one of the following:
  • National Registry status if a licensee is currently nationally registered. R 325.22315. OR
  • Completion of an applicable refresher course or refresher examination. 325.22314 (2). OR
  • Completion of continuing education hours as listed below.
National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) to maintain NREMT certification and Michigan state licenses.


45 hours of continuing education every three years. R. 325.22324. Enroll in our ALS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.

EMT Specialist:

36 hours of continuing education every three years. R 325.22323. Enroll in our BLS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
