Indian Health Service (IHS) has set up a Tribal and IHS affiliated EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs and Paramedics fund to pay for CE classes for all Tribal and IHS affiliated EMTs and Paramedics. They did this after polling IHS stations about what resources would benefit them most.
Distance CME provides 400 hours of CE classes every month. Courses are offered days, nights, weekdays and weekends to accommodate all schedules and times zones. Courses are taught in short, manageable 2 hour blocks. The courses are live and instructor led. They are nationally accredited by CAPCE and state certified.
This helps with scheduling issues, budgets, hiring, retention and increased training. It is easy to use DistanceCME to supplement your station’s training.
It is very simple to make this educational platform available to your station. IHS has already appropriated the funding. The process is simple.
- Submit an order form (CONTACT US to request the order form)
- Provide a roster of names, training levels and email addresses for each provider
Order forms are submitted directly to IHS Headquarters for verification that your tribal EMS agency is eligible to receive IHS funds under this contract. After approval by IHS Headquarters, online access to the courses are provided to the station and its employees by DistanceCME.
