Colorado Dept. of Public Health & Environment, Emergency Care Requirements

Certificates expire three (3) years from the date of issuance. 6 CCR 1015-3, 5.3.1(D)

To renew, EMS providers must complete one of the following:

  • Hold a current and valid NREMT certification
  • Complete an appropriate level refresher course as described in Section 5.3.3
  • Complete the minimum number of education hours as described in Section 5.3.3 and listed below. 6 CCR 1015-3, 5.3.2 (C)

Requirements for EMT-I or Paramedics:

50 hours every three years. 6 CCR 1015-3, 5.3.3(A)(2). Enroll in our ALS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.


Requirements for AEMTs:

36 hours every three years. 6 CCR 1015-3, 5.3.3(A)(1). Enroll in our ALS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.


Requirements for EMTs:

36 hours every three years. 6 CCR 1015-3, 5.3.3(A)(1). Enroll in our BLS NCCP + Anytime refresher course to fulfill these requirements.
