This self-paced course is designed for EMS providers to enhance their knowledge and skills in obstetric and gynecological emergencies.

  • Covers the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system
  • Reviews key physiological changes during pregnancy, and essential assessment techniques for OB/GYN patients.
  • Explanation of common gynecological conditions such as endometriosis, menopause, and menstrual disorders
  • Covers pregnancy-related complications, including hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes, ectopic pregnancy, abruptio placentae, and placenta previa.
  • Emphasizes the impact of trauma on pregnant patients, the recognition and management of high-risk conditions such as eclampsia
  • Provides strategies for managing obstetric emergencies, including imminent field delivery.
  • Special considerations, such as cultural beliefs, adolescent pregnancy, and complications related to substance abuse, are also addressed.
